AWANA club is a Bible centered youth ministry that is active worldwide. AWANA is an acrostic which stands for "Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed" which is derived from 2 Timothy 2:15
Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
AWANA is open to all children age 3 (by Sept 1st) through 6th grade. Our club dues for the upcoming year are $40.00. Registration forms and a list of costs including uniforms is available in PDF format.
AWANA teaches children how to work and play with each other while learning about Jesus Christ and how to serve Him. This is an outreach from Lake Bible Church with an invitation to the entire community whether Lake Oswego, Tualatin, Tigard, Portland, or Wilsonville.
The Lake Bible Church club meets on Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 8:15 and runs in conjunction with the school year. Each weekly meeting is broken into three elements:
Game Time
This is a time for your child to enjoy active games around the AWANA game circle.
Handbook Time
This is where your child will spend time in small groups with their leader reciting Bible verses and other learning activities. Groups are kept to four club members per leader.
Council Time
This is a time when your child is exposed to messages from Gods word. They also will receive awards they have earned for working through their handbooks.
AWANA has many special events throughout the club year. Bible Quizzing, Sparks Hike, Sparks Fun Night, Camp-outs, and Pizza parties just to name a few. A calendar of events for the 2010-11 club year is available in PDF format.
