If you would like to see Lake’s Ministry to Children in action come to AWANA any Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m.!  AWANA is an acrostic which stands for “Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed” and derived from:

2 Timothy 2:15: Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

AWANA is  an international non-denominational and Bible centered instruction for 3 year olds through 6th grade.  Our program begins in September and happens every Wednesday through May.  It begins at 6:30 p.m. and ends at  8:30 p.m.

AWANA teaches children how to work and play with each other while learning about Jesus  Christ and how to serve Him.  This is an outreach from Lake with an invitation to the entire community whether Lake Oswego, Tualatin, Tigard, Portland, or Wilsonville.

Each weekly club meeting is broken into three different elements. There is Game Time (active games around the AWANA game circle), Handbook Time (time spent in small groups with the leader reciting Bible verses, along with gaining understanding of spiritual truths), and Council Time (exposure to messages from God's Word delivered by our Adult leaders).

AWANA like every element of our Children’s Ministries wants to be a dedicated partner with parents in growing godly children.  If you would like more information about AWANA, please contact Michele Dollar, who is the AWANA club Director, by calling the church office at 503.699.9840.
